Mikala Di Manna
My name is Mikala Di Manna. I am a current Master’s student at New Mexico State University studying ruminant nutrition. I was born and raised in Lakewood, CO with no agriculture experience. I had the plan of becoming a vet when I first got into college, but then that changed when I learned about my passion for cattle. NMSU as helped me gain so much experience and find a passion for this industry. I have helped with research at the Texas Tech University feedlot in Lubbock, TX. I am currently up in Clayton, NM working on my master’s research. I am working with MicroBios Inc. and looking at the effects of direct-fed microbials of performance, carcass characteristics, and liver abscess. My goals are to eventually work as an animal nutritionist in a feedlot setting and find ways to make feedlots more economical by using other products then just corn. I am super excited to be part of this ag community.
